The emphasis should be on a personal assessment rather than a comprehensive, critical review however, comments should be put into the context of the existing literature. Links to areas of intense current research focus can also be made. Perspectives: Perspectives are personal points of view on the state-of-the-art of a specific area of knowledge and its future prospects.The recommended length of a Review is more than 20 journal pages. Systematic reviews should follow the PRISMA guidelines. Reviews: These provide concise and precise updates on the latest progress made in a given area of research.The recommended length of an Article is more than 16 journal pages. The quality and impact of the study will be considered during peer review. Authors should not unnecessarily divide their work into several related manuscripts, although short Communications of preliminary but significant results will be considered.

Sensors requires that authors publish all experimental controls and make full datasets available where possible (see the guidelines on Supplementary Materials and references to unpublished data).
